Office & Commercial Cleaning for Aspley homes

Light industrial and small commercial around Aspley Lane, where hard floors and washrooms are the whole specification and the desks are an afterthought.

Aspley is not an office district and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. The commercial work here is small premises rather than desks: a unit on one of the parades off Aspley Lane, a consulting or treatment room behind a shopfront, a community building near Melbourne Park with a hall let out by the hour. The specification is shaped by that. There are rarely more than a handful of people in the building, but there is a single washroom used by everyone who comes through the door, and a hard floor that runs from the entrance mat to the back. Those two things carry most of the hours.

Aspley sits in NG8, under Nottingham City Council. On the practical side: Straightforward, with on-street parking and drives on many properties.

What we run into on Aspley office & commercial cleaning jobs

The floors in these units are usually domestic specification sheet vinyl rather than a commercial safety floor, laid when the unit last changed hands. That matters because the seams and the edges are where soil accumulates, and because an aggressive machine pad on a thin vinyl will burnish it and leave a permanent dull patch. A red pad and a neutral detergent does the job. Entrance matting is the other one worth spending on here, since there is no lobby between the pavement and the working floor.

How a Aspley office & commercial cleaning job actually runs

The practical shape of a contract on one of these premises is decided by two things that never show on a floor plan: where the water comes from and where the waste goes. Units on these parades rarely have a cleaner's cupboard or a sluice, so mop water comes from a kitchenette tap and has to go down an outside gully rather than a sink people wash mugs in. Waste goes out through a back door into a yard shared with the neighbouring unit, which means the collection day rather than the cleaning schedule decides which evening bins get moved. The remaining constraint is the hour. These are lock up premises with roller shutters, and once the parade has closed there is nobody around, so a cleaner working alone gets a booking in and booking out call rather than an assumption that all went fine. Rear lighting is often a single bulkhead fitting over the door, and we want that working, along with the yard gate, before agreeing an evening slot at all.

Who books it here

The local reference points are Aspley Lane, Melbourne Park and Broxtowe Country Park, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.

We run Aspley on the same round as Bilborough, Bulwell and Hyson Green.

What we check on every Aspley job

Named on the specification for premises like these: the washroom extract grille, which in a cubicle with no window is the only ventilation and is normally furred with lint; the flush handle or plate and the underside of the seat hinges; the soap dispenser body rather than only its refill; and the hand dryer grille together with the wall directly beneath it. Cloths are colour coded and the washroom set never leaves that room. Disinfectant goes onto a surface that has already been cleaned and is left visibly wet for the time on the label instead of being wiped straight off again. The entrance mat is lifted and the floor under it cleaned, because a mat sitting on grit grinds it into the covering underneath. Shutter runners get swept at the same time, so the shutter does not shed grit across a clean threshold when it goes up in the morning.

What the office & commercial cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • Weekly or fortnightly: Stairwells including handrails and risers
  • Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Carpet deep cleaning
  • Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Hard floor machine scrub, strip and reseal
  • Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: High level dusting including light fittings and vents

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

What office & commercial cleaning costs in Aspley

Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

PropertyTypical per week
Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits£60 to £120
10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits£120 to £280
25 to 50 desks, 5 visits£280 to £520
50 to 100 desks, 5 visits£520 to £950
100+ desks£950 and up

Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Office cleaning, per hour£15 to £28
Carpet deep clean£1.50 to £3.50 per m²
Hard floor strip and reseal£3 to £7 per m²
Washroom deep clean and descale£150 to £400

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

Office & Commercial Cleaningin Aspley

Ring us on 07438 843980, or see the full service page.

Do you clean community buildings and halls that get let out?

Yes, and they need a different specification from an office. Usage is by session rather than by headcount, so the clean is scheduled around the booking diary rather than a fixed weekday. Chairs, table tops, the kitchen hatch and the washrooms are the whole job, and the floor gets machine work periodically rather than a mop every visit.

Can you come before we open on the parade?

Early morning is the normal arrangement for units like these, and it suits us because the parade parking is empty at that hour. It needs a key and an alarm code sorted before the first visit rather than on the doorstep, and we would want the fire exit route and the isolation points walked through once with someone from your side.

Our unit has no cleaner's cupboard and no outside tap. Is that a problem?

It is workable but it needs settling before the first visit rather than on the night. We need a named tap for filling, a legal point for emptying that is not a hand wash basin or a kitchen sink, and somewhere lockable for products, since COSHH materials cannot be left where a customer or a delivery driver can reach them. If none of that exists we bring water in and take waste out, and the specification says so plainly.

Can one person clean here alone after the parade shuts?

Yes, with a lone working arrangement written down. That means a call on arrival and a call on leaving, a named contact who will actually answer, working lighting at the rear and a shutter that can be operated from inside. We also want the alarm sequence and the fire exit route walked once with somebody from your side. If the rear yard is unlit we will ask for that fixed or move the visit to an earlier hour.

Do you cover the whole of Aspley?

Yes, all of NG8 and the surrounding streets, under Nottingham City Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Aspley?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Aspley?

Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Straightforward, with on-street parking and drives on many properties, and we group Aspley with Bilborough, Bulwell and Hyson Green on the rota.
