Office & Commercial Cleaning for Bilborough homes
A handful of units around Glaisdale Drive and the college, mostly light industrial with hard floors and a washroom block that sets the hours.
The commercial work in Bilborough is not offices in the city sense. It is the units and trade counters off Glaisdale Drive, the small businesses attached to workshops, and the buildings serving Bilborough College and Harvey Hadden. That means boots rather than shoes, sealed concrete and vinyl rather than carpet tiles, and an entrance that has to cope with weather and site dirt coming through it all day. The office half of these premises is often three rooms and a toilet hanging off a much bigger workshop, so the specification has to say clearly where the clean stops, which surfaces belong to us and which stay with the operations team.
Bilborough sits in NG8, under Nottingham City Council. On the practical side: Good, with on-street parking and generous road widths.
What we run into on Bilborough office & commercial cleaning jobs
Barrier matting is the single highest value item in a building like this and it is almost always neglected. A run of entrance matting saturates with grit within weeks, and once it is full it stops trapping and starts distributing, so the floor two metres in gets dirtier rather than cleaner. It needs lifting, the floor beneath it washing and the mat itself washing and drying properly, on a stated frequency in the specification. Doing that well cuts the time everything else in the building takes.
How a Bilborough office & commercial cleaning job actually runs
These units work a trade day and close early, so the clean happens after four or five in the afternoon rather than at eight in the evening, and whoever is locking up is often still in the yard when we arrive. That makes the practical arrangements most of the job: who holds the key, who sets the alarm, which gate is the last one shut. Parking is in the yard rather than on the road, which matters more than it sounds, because a scrubber dryer comes off the van down a ramp and then needs a socket and somewhere to empty a dirty tank into a drain rather than a toilet. The floor is machine work, not mopping, and machine work sets the running order: waste out first, washrooms next while the floor is still clear, offices after that, then the floor in one uninterrupted pass on the way out. Where the office sits on a mezzanine above the workshop, the stairs up to it are the dirtiest thing in the building and take longer than the room they lead to.
Who books it here
The local reference points are Bilborough College, Glaisdale Drive and Harvey Hadden Sports Village, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.
We run Bilborough on the same round as Wollaton, Aspley and Bulwell.
What we check on every Bilborough job
The washroom block is where the hours go. Urinals need the trap and the sparge pipe treating rather than the bowl wiping, because the smell sits in the trap and no amount of surface cleaning reaches it. Sanitary bins run on a separate service contract, so we work around the collection day rather than emptying them ourselves. Safety vinyl in a workshop washroom has an aggregate through the surface for slip resistance, and a flat mop skims across the top of it, so it needs a brush or a machine or it stays grey whatever you do. There is normally a shower in the welfare area used by two people and descaled by nobody. Hand dryer grilles, the boiler tap and its drip tray at the tea point, fire door plates and the stair nosings are named individually in the specification so they are not left to judgement.
What the office & commercial cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Weekly or fortnightly: Internal glass and partitions
- Every visit: Waste and recycling to the collection point
- Every visit: Touch points named individually: door handles, push plates, light switches, lift buttons, handrails, kitchen taps
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Upholstery on soft seating
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What office & commercial cleaning costs in Bilborough
Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
| Property | Typical per week |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits | £60 to £120 |
| 10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits | £120 to £280 |
| 25 to 50 desks, 5 visits | £280 to £520 |
| 50 to 100 desks, 5 visits | £520 to £950 |
| 100+ desks | £950 and up |
Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Office cleaning, per hour | £15 to £28 |
| Carpet deep clean | £1.50 to £3.50 per m² |
| Hard floor strip and reseal | £3 to £7 per m² |
| Washroom deep clean and descale | £150 to £400 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

We have an office attached to a workshop. Can you do both?
We clean the office, welfare and toilet areas, and we can include a workshop floor sweep and bin round if it is written into the specification. What we do not take on is cleaning around live machinery, plant or anything needing specific PPE and method statements beyond ordinary cleaning. Drawing that boundary clearly on paper avoids the usual argument about who was supposed to do the bench tops.
How often should the entrance matting be lifted?
On a trade counter off Glaisdale Drive, weekly at minimum, and in winter more. Matting only works while it has capacity, and a saturated mat pushes grit further into the building instead of holding it. We put the frequency in the specification rather than leaving it to judgement, because it is the item that quietly determines how the rest of the floors look.
We lock up at four. Can the clean happen straight after?
Yes, and on units like these it is the sensible slot. Working at close means the building is empty but the yard is still open, so access does not depend on a key handover in the dark. We need the alarm arrangement agreed in writing before the first visit: who holds the code, who resets it, and who the keyholding company calls. That is a five minute conversation at the survey and the cause of most first month problems when it is skipped.
Do you need a drain to empty the floor machine into?
Yes, and it is worth checking before the first visit. A scrubber dryer holds several litres of dirty water and that goes down a drain or a yard gully, not a hand basin or a toilet. We also need a standard socket within reach of the area being done, since a small battery machine will not cover a whole unit. Where neither exists we say so at the survey and price the floor as a manual job instead.
Do you cover the whole of Bilborough?
Yes, all of NG8 and the surrounding streets, under Nottingham City Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Bilborough?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Bilborough?
Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Good, with on-street parking and generous road widths, and we group Bilborough with Wollaton, Aspley and Bulwell on the rota.
